Three things to remember when choosing cushions anywhere, even at Carlyle.
1. Showroom seats are usually broken in from high amounts of consumer traffic.
2. Different cushion fills react differently when covered in different fabrics or leathers. This usually depends on how much air gets through the actual cushion and weave of the fabric. For example a very thick, tightly woven fabric will allow less air to pass through the cushion than a thinner more loosely woven fabric.. Thus all things being equal the cushion with the tighter weave will feel a bit firmer even though the fill is the same.
3. Everyones body proportions are different and comfort is subjective.
This is where the similarity between anywhere else and Carlyle ends. At Carlyle we offer so many different cushion fills and configurations that it can often be very confusing choosing what is subjectively comfortable for you.
4. At Carlyle all of our cushions are hand made, custom blended, blocked to fit.
Given all of these factors every Carlyle client is given a 30 day grace period to live with their choice of filler. At the time of sale we try to narrow it down to one type of seat filler and one type of back filler. Then after it is delivered and you have sat in it, read a book, watched a movie, took a nap, etc. Over the course of 30 days you should know if you need more lumbar support, if the seats are simply to soft or any number of subjective cushion issues. Over those 30 days we will fine tune the cushions as often as it takes to get them just right.
Even after all grace periods and warranties are expired all Carlyle cushions can be fully replaced for a nominal fee. 99.9% of our service calls involve fine tuning, replacing and upgrading seat and back fills. We even do it for quality products that are not our own.
